I recently discovered Feathered Gems thanks to our volunteer Dr. Lauren Halby. Lauren often wears a pendant with a greyhound on it, that turns out to be an old Irish coin, with an image of the famous Irish racer "Master McGrath" (pronounced McGraw). See the painting below. . . He was a tiny, 'weakling' greyhound - born 1866 - that no one thought would amount to much, and became to everyone's amazement the greatest racer in Ireland and England.
